Amber Ox, a brewery and restaurant based in Williamsburg, Virginia, sought a brand identity that reflects their hands-on, crafted approach: “Grown by hand, brewed by hand, made by hand.”

 

 

 

The Challenge

They needed a brand that could scale across a variety of applications—menus, merchandise, packaging, environmental graphics—while staying true to their relational, artisanal roots.

 

My Role & Approach

I took their core mantra (“grown, brewed, made by hand”) as the creative foundation. My role was to translate that ethos into visual form: typography, logos, textures, and systems that spoke to both craftsmanship and strength.

 

Execution

• Created a bold, confident logo and icon system

• Developed textures and graphic motifs inspired by agriculture and industrial craft

• Designed packaging (cans, bottles), menus, and print collateral

• Developed environmental graphics for brewery / restaurant space

• Built social media templates and digital assets maintaining brand consistency

 

Impact

Amber Ox now has a brand identity that feels deeply rooted in their origin story and craftsmanship. It resonates with customers, strengthens their presence in the craft beer market, and provides a flexible but distinct design system for future growth.
